BLOG 1 - AMERICAN MUSIC ABROAD

AMERICAN MUSIC ABROAD BLOG
BAND DIRECTOR - JENNIFER HODGSON

I have traveled on American Music Abroad Tours across Europe for 14 years as a director and two years as a student participant. This blog will help you prepare and answer questions that parents or future tour participants may have about the 2013 GOLD TOUR!  This year we will be going to the countries of Germany, Austria, Switzerland, Czech Republic and Italy. I will also give valuable tips and information and a few fun stories for you to prepare for your upcoming tour!

One of the first questions I  get asked often from students is, "will I be able to make friends?" The answer is a resounding, "YES!" There are so many students from different schools and states that come together to make this tour.  Many of the students are the only person from their school and they are looking to make new friends. The fraternizing begins on day one at Millersville college in Pennsylvania. There we will teach everything you need to know to have a safe and successful tour of Europe. One of our goals as staff members is to help the students get to know each other and feel comfortable with each other. Here are some clips of the kids playing some fun get to know you games!

We find that before we even set foot on a plane to Europe, new friendships are blossoming and everyone has many new and exciting relationships!
